QUESTION: I recently attended a RENOVARÉ
Regional Conference and am interested in bringing one to
my area? What do I do?
ANSWER: First, read the information about Regional
Conferences, then contact our Joan Skulley at 303-792-0152,
x 105, or
. We also offer Local
Conferences.
QUESTION: What is the difference between a Regional Conference
and a Local Conference?
ANSWER: A Regional
Conference is sponsored by a number of organizations
in a region, is advertised throughout that region, and is
held on Friday evening and all day Saturday until 4:00 p.m.
A Local Conference
can be sponsored by one church and advertised in a community
as being an activity of that organization to which everyone
is invited, and is held on Saturday only.
QUESTION: Who speaks at Regional and Local Conferences?
ANSWER: There are two speakers at each Regional Conference:
Glandion Carney, Richard Foster, or James Bryan Smith and
another RENOVARÉ Team
Member. One RENOVARÉ Team
Member leads a Local Conference.
QUESTION: Does RENOVARÉ regularly
hold National and/or International Conferences?
ANSWER: We have sponsored conferences for the larger Christian
community at various times, but do not do so on a regular
basis. One of our long-term goals is to hold a biannual
conference where people gather to reaffirm the RENOVARÉ
Covenant, learn about Kingdom living, integrate what they
learn into their lives, and return to their homes and jobs
empowered by that experience. We are hoping to hold the
first in 2003, and then every odd numbered year thereafter.
Host cities for these conferences would be places that have
earlier had exceptional Regional Conferences. Let us know
if you think this is a good idea and if you would attend
these conferences!
QUESTION: Do members of your team speak for events
that aren't officially connected with RENOVARÉ?
ANSWER: Each of our
Team Members has their own ministry in addition to serving
on the RENOVARÉ Ministry Team.
Call us at 303-792-0152 or write
for their contact information.
QUESTION: Do you sponsor retreats where a person can go
to refresh their spirit?
ANSWER: We lend support to many fine retreat centers around
the United States and beyond by recommending that people
go to them for spiritual nourishment. Our long-range plans
include developing retreats for lay people and Christian
leaders that will be held at some of these centers. Watch
the Perspective for announcements.
QUESTION: Where can I go in my region for a retreat?
ANSWER: A good resource that lists retreat centers in the
US is A Place for God by Timothy Jones (New York:
Doubleday/Image, 2000). The centers are divided by region,
then listed by state with a description and contact information.
