John the Apostle, also known as Saint John the Beloved, was one of Jesus’ Twelve Apostles. His brother James was also one of the Twelve. John was present at the Crucifixion with Mary the mother of Jesus, and Jesus said to his mother “Woman, here is your son", and to the Beloved Disciple he said, "Here is your mother."
